Thank you to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry who designed the logo and a HUGE thank you, Jayfrost, for working out BlogClan’s Allegiances each month and writing a brilliant FAQ (see below)…
IMPORTANT: BEFORE YOU POST ANYTHING, READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
In order to get on the list, you must fill out this form. Only fill it out the first time. If you have already filled it out and are on the list, YOU DO NOT NEED TO REPOST UNLESS IT IS JULY OR JANUARY. All unnecessary reposts will be deleted with magic and all offenders will receive a bat-bogey hex in the mail.
Here is the form:
[contact-form][contact-field label=’Name’ type=’name’ required=’1’/][contact-field label=’Wand Type’ type=’text’ required=’1’/][contact-field label=’Hogwart%26#039;s House’ type=’select’ required=’1′ options=’Gryffindor,Hufflepuff,Ravenclaw,Slytherin’/][contact-field label=’Repost (if you%26#039;ve already been on the list before) or New Member:’ type=’select’ required=’1′ options=’New Member,Repost’/][contact-field label='(if reposting apprentice) Favorite Magical Subject:’ type=’text’/][contact-field label='(if reposting senior warrior) Prefect?:’ type=’select’ options=’Yes,No’/][/contact-form]
Rank is determined by Hogwarts school grade. (see FAQ below)
First Year, Second Year – Kit
Third Year, Fourth Year – Apprentice
Fifth Year, Sixth Year – Warrior
Seventh Year, Graduate – Elder
If you want to be a Senior Warrior, you must say so and be vouched for by EIGHT people other than yourself. Please only vouch for people you believe have worked hard for BlogClan, not just your friends. If you gain enough vouches to become a senior warrior, REPOST YOUR DESCRIPTION AND NAME AND TELL ME YOU’RE BECOMING A SENIOR WARRIOR. In order to vouch for people, please wave your wand at the computer screen and say in a very clear tone, “Lumos Voucha!”
And please remember that the Allegiances are to be updated once a month, the first day of every month. Don’t ask why your name hasn’t been put on the list yet if it isn’t the first. I will hex you through the screen if you do.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How do I find out my Hogwarts house?
A: Seek out the sorting hat, which resides in Dumbledore’s office, and consult it by placing it on top of your head. It will tell you which house you belong in. Alternatively, take the test on Pottermore.com.
Q: If we’re new to Hogwarts, do we post our description when we arrive, even if it’s not a repost month, or do we have to wait till the repost month?
A: Yes. If you are new to Hogwart’s Allegiances, you can post your description anytime. If you were previously on the list but got taken off for whatever reason, you can post anytime. If your name is currently on the list, DON’T REPOST UNLESS IT’S JANUARY OR JULY, unless you are changing your current description for whatever reason.
Q: Why do we have to repost at all/What is a repost for?
A: Because a lot of people come and go on the website, and the allegiances tend to get clogged up with people who don’t visit the site anymore. This is a way to keep it from getting too large when half the people aren’t even visiting Hogwarts anymore. That’s not to say someone who stopped visiting for a while and comes back can’t be put back on the list. It’s just easier to get rid of their names while they aren’t visiting Hogwarts. It is important to keep tabs on who comes and goes, and this is easier than cursing your laptop to see when you’re online and when you’re not. You understand.
Q: If you change your house, do you repost?
A: Yes. That is the exception. If you are already on the list, but you wish to change houses and both the Head of House of your previous house and the house you wish to enter have approved it, you may post your new description at anytime. You must prove me with both THE OLD HOUSE and THE NEW HOUSE.
Q: When school ends do you move a rank up or do you wait until school begins again?
A: You rank up when the school year ends, not when the new one begins. Remember, after the school year ends, a spell is placed on you to make you older and more important.
Q: My school/country doesn’t follow the Hogwarts system of grades! What do I do?
A: I’ve had a couple of questions to do with this. Here is the Hogwarts grade system for those who don’t know:
Age 11-12: First Year
Age 12-13: Second Year
Age 13-14: Third Year
Age 14-15: Fourth Year
Age 15-16: Fifth Year
Age 16-17: Sixth Year
Age 17-18: Seventh Year
I usually handle these kinds of questions on a case by case basis, since school systems can vary wildly. If your school doesn’t fit the format I posted, let me know and we can decide what rank you belong in. Of course, you should all follow this system, since you all go to Hogwarts, of course.
Q: Can I post a description for a friend who doesn’t go to Hogwarts?
A: No. This is a list for Hogwarts students only.
Q: Can I submit more than one name/description?
A: No. There is only one you, one Hogwarts student that is you, so there is only a need for one description of that one you.
